Logic Puzzles

Logic puzzles consist of any puzzle where the solution can be reached through deductive reasoning. There are two main types of logic puzzles.
- Verbal logic puzzles. Prior to the popularity of Sudoku, this was the most common type of logic puzzle. Verbal logic puzzles typically consist of a series of statements that allow one to deduce the answer.
- Abstract logic puzzles. Abstract logic puzzles have become increasingly popular with the rise of Sudoku as well as Nikoli and numerous variant types. Examples of this type of puzzle are:
Logic puzzles typically do not require outside references to solve; in fact, solvers typically would gain no benefit from an outside resource. Because abstract logic puzzles are language-neutral, they are typically used in international puzzle competitions.
